Kelly Dorfman, M.S., L.N.D.

Kelly Dorfman is a health program planner and nutritionist with twenty-nine years of clinical experience.  Her specialty is developing nutrition and lifestyle strategies to address complex health problems from autism to bone loss to rare genetic disorders.  Physicians and other medical professionals refer cases to her for insight when traditional methods do not attain optimal results.

One of Kelly's special interests is children.  Seventeen years ago, she co-founded the non-profit organization Developmental Delay Resources (DDR).  The purpose of DDR is to educate parents, teachers and health professionals who deal with children facing attention, behavior and cognitive challenges.  DDR helps people decide what to do after the diagnosis and while waiting for research.  The organization also provides information and training in non-drug intervention that address the root causes of these conditions.

Kelly's special talent for integrating information from many sources and finding practical solutions has made her a popular speaker and workshop leader.  She has lectured extensively throughout the United States with periodic engagements in Canada as well.  Sponsoring groups have included doctors, therapists, optometrists, international associations and public/private schools.

Kelly has been appointed to advisory boards of several national organizations and has served, by governor appointment, on the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice.  She has been consulted by WebMD, interviewed on radio programs and referenced in the Washington Post.  Currently, she is in the process of writing a book for Workman Press using her most compelling nutritional cases to teach parents how to address physical, behavioral and cognitive issues in their children.  Expected release is March of 2011.

"Kelly is on the 'cutting edge' of nutritional treatments for any type of disorder. Many physicians count on her to assist them with difficult cases. I have heard Kelly present at least 50 times and I always learn something new. She knows what works, what doesn't and why. She can back up anything she says with a plethora of research studies."
